L8r is an award-winning interactive drama that follows six friends as they deal with teenage life. The dramas are available on DVD as well as on the website and are used by subscribed practitioners and Young People to discuss difficult issues such as teenage pregnancy, drugs, friendships and sex.
The l8r website is an important resource as it offers further background information about the characters, peer-moderated forums, an exploratory Flash “l8r World”, peer-mentored chat rooms, advice links and the opportunity for young people to showcase their work from L8r workshops.
Zupa were invited to re-design the site so that this range of content is easily accessible and clearly represented. Previously hidden areas such as the forum are now highlighted on relevant pages, allowing the User to jump straight in to the conversation. The modular design also allows for new content to be added easily via the bespoke CMS.
The re-designed website won the Basel_Karlsruhe Forum Multimedia Award in 2007. The judges said:
“Its clear educational aim, clear structure and community building activity made L8R the winner of the City of Karlsruhe Trophy”
As a result of our involvement with L8r, Zupa have been working as consultants on other Hi8us projects.
